MIND MOBILITY

A table-top city to tell tangible tales about data.

Mind Mobility sought to showcase the innovative capabilities of the MIND app in a way that felt playful, friendly and inviting. The challenge lay in breaking down data complexities and transforming them into a visually charming, interactive experience made from repurposed materials.

The deliverable, a table-sized installation, became a centrepiece at the 'Future of Mobility' exhibition for six captivating months. People interacted with joy, experiencing a sense of wonder as they explored the miniature race track, alongside data visualisation on screen, to uncover delightful details within each object and the potential power of data.

For three immersive weeks, a collaborative team delved into the art of intuitive model-making. Our studio became a vibrant lab where hands thought and created, blending different skill sets, crafts, and up-cycled materials. The result was a whimsical tableau that showcased Amsterdam's essence, with different zones distinguished through colour and material, each representing key features of the MIND app.

Amid the meticulous crafting of miniatures, the digital team joined the creative dance, coding tracks and cars. What started as a detailed model-making session transformed into a lively co-creation, infusing the installation with both physical and digital magic.

The whimsical MIND Mobility installation was a tangible celebration of data and creativity that not only shifted perceptions of data and the app but also showcased IOIA's ability to turn a technical brief into a heartfelt, playful world (in miniature).
