QUOOKER x BAARS & BLOEMHOFF

Turning bespoke kitchenettes into design wunderkammers

What started with stylistic kitchen sets showcasing the extensive range of Quooker taps, resulted in an exhibition showcase for Baars & Bloemhoff, where works of local designers were mixed to create encompassing worlds for visitors to wander through.

During Dutch Design Week 2019, STUDIO IOIA collaborated with Baars & Bloemhoff to transition their Broeinest space in Eindhoven into 8 thematic installations. The kitchens designed for Quooker took centre stage, accompanied by a curated selection of outstanding designer pieces, to enhance the colour & material trends.

Each room contained a 3D material mood board to show the compelling range of Baars&Bloemhoff’s products, used in the spatial elements created for the exhibition.

The material mood boards were also shot as still-life images, used to illustrate the trends in the ‘Below the Surface’ magazine launched during this event.

From CMF research and distilling interior trends to designing the tailor-made kitchenettes, to styling them with carefully selected props for the catalogue photography, to creating an immersive experience in the showroom of Baars & Bloemhoff integrating emerging design talents' work - this multifaceted project was the perfect showcase of the breadth of services we offer; Design research, Art direction and creative production seamlessly blended in this rich process. Marrying local brands at the forefront of design and innovation made this collaboration even more interesting, with the guidance of a long-term collaborator, the wonderful Studio Aandacht.
