VLISCO GARDEN

A Tactile Tapestry to Elevate Textile Storytelling

For Vlisco’s Garden campaign, we embarked on a five-month journey of commitment to detail and deep collaboration. We aimed to bridge the gap between CGI generated backdrops and statement garments created with new wax print textile collections by infusing the visual narrative with beautiful contemporary objects.

The project unfolded in three distinct shoots, each meticulously mirroring the nuances of the garden's morning, day, and night atmospheres through colour palette, materiality, and garment selection.

For each shoot, IOIA took the helm of a diverse team of set builders, including laser cutters, mould creators, upholsterers, welders, painters, and glassblowers to bring illustrated elements of archive prints to life through a mesmerising array of bespoke props from surreal juicy fruits to XL ombre dewdrops. Our team made sure each object became a fantastical, marvellous piece through obsessively handcrafted details: placing laser-cut petals onto birds with pearly pins, creating lace-like patterns with beads on ginormous bobbins, casting 30 fictional exotic fruits.

This collaboration with Vlisco was a testament to the trust and freedom granted to IOIA and exemplifies the essence of our service—transforming an idea into a visually stunning story. Crafted through a blend of artisanal and digital techniques, each idea, shape, and material showcases our commitment to delivering extraordinary and tactile experiences that not only amazed the audience with their diversity but also elevated the storytelling.
